Antares

Electronic Service Guide (ESG) for DVB-H in Mobile TV systems, is the component in charge of informing the subscribers about the available contents at any time and how to access to those services. In order to watch TV programs on their handheld device, users must choose a service (i.e., a TV program) from the list of available services in the air.
The ESG is, together with the VoD and the Content Distribution System, a Mobile TV System to implement the end users aplications, and the key to:

  • Allow users access and send them the channels and services personal offer

  • Client suscription, payment and security control

  • Global Services combinated with the personal onDemand Services

ANTARES ESG/EPG is a flexible and scalable platform that combine a ESG (Electronic Service Guide for Mobile TV) and a EPG (Electronic Program Guide for cable, terrestrial, satelite, or IP television) and lets you integrate information coming from several heterogenous sources, from DVB feeds to video on demand services, and generate announce carousels and multicast sessions to be aired with the rest of services, keeping updated the handheld client.

Because of the interoperability and flexibility characteristics and, as a result of the tests completed in real deploys, we can confirme that nowadays ANTARES is a first level product, also integrated with the Video on Demand and the Content Distribution LambdaStream products.

Architecture, Hardware Independence, Light, Open Interfaces, Multiple Conectors, Neutral Data Representation, Multiple Platforms, Multi-Provider... All these characteristics means users benefits: Cost, ESG and EPG functionality, interoperability and extra services.

ROADMAP

The roadmap ANTARES version includes many new functions to help the convergent systems and increase tha ESG capacities, to support new business models; It is worth highlighting:
