VoDKA

The VoDKA system is an extremely powerful multimedia streaming server, suitable for IPTV deployments, TVoDSL or DVB-C networks, internet streaming, and content delivery providers. VoDKA is the foundation for many innovative streaming services - not only VoD, but also video surveillance, fixed-mobile video convergence, and interactive video.

Thanks to its scalablility and flexiblility characteristics, VoDKA guaranties the complete LifeCycle (creation, management, distribution and reproduction), optimizing the wideband consumes and adapting to the client network topology (distributed video servers in high disponibility, remotes caches, unified management, metainformation management, MPEG-7 anotation, transcoders management, interactive aplications... )

The VoDKA architecture is, at the same time:

• An extremely powerful multimedia streaming server, because of its scalability, flexibility and modularity.

  • Scalable, because can be adapted both to small projects and big, depending on the users number, and can grow with the clients requeriments

  • Flexible, because the servers can be configured according to the network topology, reducing deployment costs without major reconfiguration

  • Modular, because every component works as a independient an distributed module, that can be arbitrarily plugged and interconnected, thus adapting easily to very different needs. Every module has been designed with a pretty definned function: video storage, control, protocol adapter, cache, replication, supervision, agrupation. A VoDKA installation consist on deploying this modules either in one server or in a cluster.

• A suite of video server complementary products, that allows the complete management of the multimedia contents: video metadata, live video adquisition, storage and indexing, network distribution, contents recording, ads management, access protected systems, watermark systems, playouts generator (channels from storaged video), transcodification (diferent quality generator from the original media), client services from many frontends (Set Top Boxes, PCs, Mobile Phones, Multimedia Home Centers, Entertainment Screens...)

VoDKA, with its characteristics, is the basic element to deploy innovative streaming services, not only VoD, but also surveillance systems, MobileTV, Interactive Video, e-learning, digital signage...
