VoDKA Virtual Ticketer

VoDKA Virtual Ticketer provides a flexible access control mechanism to VoDKA.

Based on public-key cryptography and signed digital envelopes, Virtual Ticketer allows fine control and easy integration with third party systems. It is deployed as two separate modules:

• TicketShop.creates tickets that enable an end-user to access a single asset during a specified time window.

• Ticket-enabled VoDKA frontends,that check ticket validity in real time.

Virtual Ticketer does not require any communication between the video servers and the TicketShop; they simply have to share a pair of public / private keys. In case a video server is compromised, only a public key is exposed; it would only enable a malicious user to check tickets for validity, but not to generate new tickets.

Please note that Virtual Ticketer is an access control mechanism; it is not a Digital Rights Management system.
